About Anne
Anne has been working in Victorian State Schools for over 20 years providing Specialist Literacy Support to students in need. She is trained in Orton Gillingham Morphology & Maths and is a registered AMADA with the Australian Dyslexia Association. Anne also runs workshops for Educational Support Staff in the State & Private sector.
Five years ago, after struggling to find a suitable resource to help teachers understand how to teach spelling, and not just provide a weekly spelling list to memorise, Anne decided to turn her wealth of knowledge into an easy-to-use resource and thus created 'Spelling Step by Step' and more recently a follow up manual, 'The Next Step'.
Spelling Step by Step
'Spelling Step by Step' is a small, pocket book that can easily be carried around and be on hand as needed. It is a suitable resource for classroom teachers, teachers aides, tutors and parents.
It provides an easy-to-understand explanation of over 50 spelling rules & generalisations as well as supplying a few examples of each.
The Next Step
'The Next Step' gives home- schoolers and educators instant, explicit and systematic access to the many spelling rules & generalisations of the English language that can be used for their learning intentions, along with extensive and cumulative word lists for them to complete their weekly planning. No more sifting through papers looking for appropriate words to use, it is all included, saving hours and hours of precious planning time.
On site Workshops
Anne is also available to provide comprehensive workshops in schools for their Integration/ Teacher Aides within the Melbourne Metro area.
